When You Broke Up With Me

When you broke up with me
I felt suprised sad and ashamed.
I thought we would be together longer,
But you said your feelings just weren't the same.

When you walked up to me and said,
"We need to talk about us."
I thought,"Oh no, not again.
I've heard this line way too much."

But of course I kept a smile on my face,
and pretended I hardly cared.
But I knew deep down inside of my heart
I would always keep a place for you there.

I felt like pleading,"If we stay together
I know we could work it out!"
But I knew that you would only feel guilty
if I began to cry and shout.

So I pulled myself together and said,
"Of course we'll always be friends."
But friends with you is not enough for me,
I'll always love you 'till the end!
