Armageddon
( That which destroyes all )
The day began as any day
With usual loud commotion
Of people going off to work
Without the slightest notion
Of the murder and the mayhem -
That was soon to come
Along with death and utter
Total pandemonium
The streets were full of people
Journeying this way and that
And coffee shops were loaded with
People who stopped to chat
Yes life was normal ( so it seemed )
So no-one was prepared
As when THEY actually arrived
People just stopped and stared
As something suddenly appeared
Above them in the sky
It dwarfed the tallest buildings
As a giant dwarfs a fly
A massive shadow hung above
The onlookers below
They stared in total fear, of what
It was, they didn't know.
The shadow floated overhead -
High above the town
Until presently it began
To slowly hover down
And as it came,
People could see
The shadow's
True identity
It was a ship, and huge it was
Gargantuan in size
As said before, it dwarfed the tallest
Buildings just like flies
A hatch opened, a platform lowered
Slowly to the ground
Three figures emerged, the onlookers
had scarcely made a sound
The figures were
Aliens with greenish skin
And a bright pulsing glow
That came from within
Their bodies, which were
A horrific sight
The faces, with eyes
As dead as night
"We bring you greetings"
An alien spoke
In a guttural voice
That was almost a croak
"We want your planet"
It finished up
With "And if we don't get it,
We'll blow you up.
We'll fry you all
Like pigs on spits
And then mince you and mash you
Into tiny little bits.
"Oh yeah? And what with?"
An angry man cried
To which the alien responded
With a laser gun and fried
The man into a toasty crisp -
A small bundle of ash
"We said we'd mince and mash you, now
You've seen a glimpse of 'mash'."
So cooperate please
Without any fret
And please bear in mind that
What we want we get."
But the pigheaded humans
Refused to obey
The alien's requests for
Permission to stay
And take over the world -
To have for their own
Our cities, our factories
For reasons unknown.
And so the aliens
Destroyed us all
In a cataclysmic rage
Yet with effort so small
That in a day or two our
Whole race had departed
From the face of the Earth -
From whence we had started
